Many alts managers will be looking to start liquid alts strategies this year, and for good reason: the retail funds have quickly become the fastest-growing asset class in mutual funds, according to Morningstar data. Some hedge fund managers are building up their infrastructure to launch new retail products, including Highland Capital Management, which launched its Highland Alternative Investors platform in March.
