TA Associates Completes Acquisition of NorthStar

BOSTON, May 5, 2015 – TA Associates, a leading global growth private equity firm, today announced it has completed a majority investment in NorthStar Financial Services Group, LLC (“NorthStar”). The transaction closed on April 30. A definitive agreement was announced on February 9 of this year. NorthStar’s management team members remain significant owners in the company. Additional terms of the investment were not disclosed.

With more than $300 billion in assets under management and administration as of March 31, 2015, NorthStar provides a wide array of support services to registered investment advisors (RIAs), independent broker dealers (IBDs) and investment management firms.

In connection with the investment, M. Roy Burns and Todd R. Crockett, Managing Directors of TA Associates, joined NorthStar’s Board.
